We raised $16.5M to redefine CNC specialized industrial service in Europe and in the USA

We have raised a $16.5M Series A to redefine CNC-specialized industrial service in Europe and in the USA. The round was co-led by Isogon Ventures and 2150, and our existing investors Luminar Ventures, RunwayFBU, J12 Ventures and AI.Fund all participated.
Our patented technology enables CNC machine tools to report their own mechanical condition. With this funding, we will scale our operations in the US, grow our partnerships with industrial service providers and extend our data platform with a series of add-on intelligence applications.
“CNC machine tools make every other machine on Earth, and until now almost nobody could see inside them on component-level while they run. That took a new measurement principle, five years of research, and four years of real-world data. We are ready to bring it to every factory that needs it.”
— Karoly Szipka, Founder and CEO, IPercept
What we will do with the funding
Expand in the US. We will scale operations in the US and make our first dedicated local hires in sales and deployment.
Extend our platform. We will add a series of add-on intelligence applications to our data platform.
Grow partnerships and the team. We will scale our partnerships with industrial service providers and grow our engineering and data science teams.
The importance of CNC machines
CNC machine tools are the precision systems that manufacture the components underpinning modern life, from aircraft engines and medical implants to cars, electronics and energy infrastructure. The installed base is worth roughly $1 trillion worldwide, and the machines feed huge industries including automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical devices, machinery, energy and defence.
CNC machines are also the least observed asset in the factory. The machine controller commands motion but does not measure mechanical condition. Vibration sensors were designed for pumps and motors, not for machines with dozens of interacting components.
This blind spot has existed since the 1940s. CNC monitoring stood still for 25 years because no scalable data access for these machines existed. Without our technology, it still takes two days of manual work to fully understand why a single machine failed, and average machine efficiency has been stuck at 50–60% for decades.
How IPercept’s technology works
We read the machine’s own motion. A single patented IPercept device, mounted on the moving part of a CNC machine of any brand, model or age, converts micrometre-scale motion into component-level condition data. It has no connection to the machine controller or the customer’s IT network.
Component-level visibility. Production and maintenance teams see which components are wearing, such as spindles, ballscrews, guides and bearings, how quickly, and exactly what to do before production stops.
No historical data needed. We measure the machine’s physical behaviour directly instead of relying on large historical datasets.
Our data-driven analytics give manufacturers a level of detail on their CNC machines that was not available before. It works like a full-body MRI for the machine.
We got here by treating CNC monitoring as a domain-specific problem first, not a data science problem. Our CEO Karoly Szipka holds a PhD in CNC machine diagnostics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and our co-founder Andreas Archenti is a chair professor in industrial dependability at KTH.
What our investors say
“Industry is meant to run like a well-oiled machine, and unplanned CNC downtime is where that ideal breaks. IPercept is the most seamless, accurate answer the space has produced – and exactly what critical industries need.”
— Paco Riberas, General Partner, Isogon Ventures
“The next wave of AI will change how the physical world operates. IPercept is bringing intelligence directly to industrial equipment, helping manufacturers understand their equipment in real time, improve productivity and extend the life of critical assets. That is exactly the kind of technology we want to back at 2150, and we’re excited to support Karoly and his team as they scale into the US.”
— Rahul Parekh, Partner, 2150
